Frost Forged: Predator Philippines Launches Triton 700

Everybody’s so used to seeing the combination of red and black in the gaming industry. On your motherboards, GPUs, your gaming laptops, even your peripherals like keyboards and mice, but what about the combination of blue and black?

Another beast launched last September, the Predator Triton 700 comes in brilliant cool blue lighting that really makes it look like it was forged from the inner bowels of Icecrown Citadel.

“When we engineered the Triton 700, we really took into consideration the needs and wants of gaming enthusiasts,” shares JB Aquino, Marcomms Lead, Predator Philippines. “Extreme performance was a given; on top of that we made sure that the Triton 700 was conveniently portable and housed in one robust yet refined machine.”

“For heavy gamers looking to share the action with friends this is a dream come true,” enthuses Aquino. “With the Predator Triton 700, all these powerful components and convenient additions are in place, gamers no longer need to be glued to a desktop for a perfect gaming experience.”

With the Triton 700, gamers can choose between NVIDIA’s GeForce GTX 1060 or the newest GeForce GTX 1080 with Max-Q design. It has your standard Intel i7 processor but what interests me the most is the Predator Philippines claim – producing gaming laptops with the best cooling systems.

This unique piece of tech houses twin Aeroblade 3D fans (that are just 0.1mm) which are connected to six heat pipes and four heat sinks that supposedly allow for “hyper-efficient” cooling.

All that gaming capability is encased in a unique component design – a 15.6″ FHD display at a Z-height of 18.9mm with that unique black and blue coloring.  Plus, you get full customization with its RGB backlit mechanical keyboard. THAT is always a good thing. 🙂

The Predator Triton 700 GTX 1060 model retails at PHP 134,999.00 while the the Predator Triton 700 GTX 1080 model is priced at PHP 229,999.00. For a limited time, customers get an additional Predator Cestus 500 mouse, a Predator Galea 500 gaming headset, and/or Steam credits for every purchase, depending on the unit purchased.

Pre-orders will be available via Columbia Computers, Complink, Concept Computers, Octagon, PC Corner, PC Express, Thinking Tools, and VillMan. Units can be expected to arrive from 30 to 45 days upon ordering.

OMGluie Thoughts:
(BUT feel free to skip this part, coz who am I kidding, LOL, IDK anything, ok.)

The Triton 700 is, no doubt, incredibly unique and a stand-out in its design. I don’t think I’ve seen a gaming laptop that banners black and blue over the traditional black and red of other popular gaming brands.

I have no hesitation to say that it is high-duty (and high-powered, of course), it WILL do what you want it to do and do it well, whether it’s playing your ultra-high graphics games or rendering your video edits. The option to choose between a 1060 and 1080 depending on your budget is also a good thing.

But I also wonder about the cooling system it claims to have. Cooling systems in gaming laptops (no matter the brand, price range, or spec), really leave much to be desired. Although, I guess, this is really what NVIDIA’s Max-Q design was created for. In theory, it allows for a slimmer laptop build with high-powered specs without having to worry about overheating.

I also feel like the design of the Triton 700 is all that makes it unique, though I guess that IS its main selling point. If you, like me, prefer the blacks and reds of the industry, obviously, this may not even be on your to-buy radar, but if you’re into black and blue, then it’s a purchase worth a ponder! 🙂
