Did you know that there are still a bunch of communities in the PH that live without electricity? It’s sad, yes, and it’s also true. BUT, you CAN do something about it this April because The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf is partnering with My Shelter Foundation‘s Liter of Light to help bring the gift of light to these communities.
You can simply do your part by simply pledging Php950 at any of the The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf stores near you. This is the total that it’ll cost for The Liter of Light’s solar-powered lamps.
OR, you could go to their event on April 23, 2016, Saturday, at the 26th St. Bistro in BGC, make your pledge there, and then help build one yourself. Parents can also bring their kids around so that they can spend a meaningful Saturday together. 🙂 I’m sure it’ll be a great way to start your kids off on the journey of learning how to care and support others who are less fortunate than them.
The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf, along with My Shelter Foundation, is looking to donate 100 solar-powered lamps to the Dumagat Tribe. They’re a nomadic community in Nueva Ecija and I heard it takes 3 hours to get to their village! They also live far apart so equipping them with portable solar-powered lamps provides a good solution to the distance and lack of electricity.
I won’t be able to go because I have a wedding to attend to, but everyone is invited! You can message The Coffee Bean & Tea Leaf on Facebook or e-mail them at email@example.com, if you feel like you want to make a pledge or to RSVP for the event.
