I was recently invited to the opening of a unique concept store by Digital Walker. Opening their first branch on the third level of TriNoma Mall, Hive Mind is definitely a one-of-a-kind place to shop for gadgets and tech accessories, let me show you why. 🙂
What does Hive Mind even mean? Well to quote Google Search, it is “a notional entity consisting of a large number of people who share their knowledge or opinions with one another, regarded as producing either uncritical conformity or collective intelligence.” This is the term that Digital Walker based the design of their new concept store from. The collective consciousness and intelligence that can be found in their well-curated selection of merchandise.
Again, what does that mean? It means that Hive Mind only houses the top ten best-selling gadgets in top ten categories (iPhone cases, speakers, headphones, etc.,) based on the demands of the digital community. So, whatever you see in the store is technically the best of the best selling products across all Digital Walker stores!
This was explained during the event by Digital Walker Marketing Manager Mark Javellana and And A Half Studio (the partner of Digital Walker in designing the store) Account Manager Petra Ghana.
Ghana shares, “Hive Mind is inspired by the shared consciousness of nature and how different members of the community benefit from one another. It is a store that helps you choose what the best gadgets and accessories are through its design and through the items available. The store is authentic because the information comes from the customers themselves. It is like talking to a friend.”
Javellana also explains, “All the items available in the store are the best-sellers from the previous month. On the first day of every month, we change all our stocks based on the previous month’s sales. Hive Mind does all the research for you in terms of what sells best. We make gadget accessory shopping easy and lots of fun.”
The store has quite an explicable interior and quirky set-up, it makes one think that the items and layout can easily be changed or replaced depending on what will be selling the best in the months to come. It’s perfect for people who find themselves having a hard time making decisions when purchasing tech accessories and gadgets. Pretty cool, imho.
What I like the most is how salient the concept is. Now, all the more, decisions are based on the tastes and purchasing habits of the people who actually buy and use these items!
