OMGluie Beauty Review: Air Optix Color Contacts in Blue

Okay, so I haven’t really written anything in a while. Life really has me by the nose right now but huhu, I finally found some time to sit down and write this review of my new Air Optix Colors Contact Lenses, AND THEY’RE IN BLUE!! Check out the post below to see more photos! Yay!

Wearing contact lenses for me is easy-peasy. As I mentioned before, I’ve been wearing contact lenses since my days as a high school student and up til now, I wear the clear kind on a daily basis. LOL. Also, I am blind as a bat so they’re very convenient for me.

The contact lenses come in sealed boxes and are packed individually, so you know that you’re getting them signed, sealed, and delivered. HAHA.

The Air Optix Colors contact lenses I received were in BLUE. A color that I normally don’t like wearing every day so it’s something I usually reserve for when I cosplay or go to special events.

In the lens case alone you can see how vibrantly blue these are! But of course, it’s better to see how they will look over a pair of typical Filipino dark brown eyes. It’s always a wonder if the color will even show up at all, HAHA! 🙂

Here they are on my face as shot by my bedroom window:

And here’s what they look like on me in indoor lighting in my room:

I did minor tweakings with the brightness, color balance, and white balance of the photos but they look very natural and not too bizarre on my face, which is constantly my fear whenever I try on colored contact lenses.

Here’s a closer look:

These lenses really have dimension, what with the flecks and darker layers of blue you can find in it. It’s not flat in terms of color, so it doesn’t look off-putting!

I also took separate photos of the colored lenses versus my natural dark brown eyes so you guys can notice the difference! 🙂

The truth is I didn’t expect the color to turn out so well! And over a pair of darker shaded eyes! I also didn’t expect that they would look so natural on me! Unlike my cosplay colored lenses that are a shocking blue that simply can’t be ignored, hehe.

The positive thing I find about these lenses is how deceiving they can be, which can be both good or bad, LOL, you take your pick. They fit in so well with your natural look but there’s something different about them that will make people take a second look! NAKS!

So, here’s my verdict:
Color: Air Optix Colors contact lenses in BLUE is a very, very subtle shade of sapphire blue. They look natural over typical dark brown eyes so they’re easy to wear even on normal days. If you’re looking for something more striking, these may not be the ones for you.
Wearability: Air Optix Colors boasts of breathable contact lenses. So you can wear these from morning til night and they will not bother you, provided you’re used to wearing contact lenses. Actually, the truth is, these Air Optix Colors contact lenses really feel more comfortable than my Freshlook Colorblends.
Price: I got my lenses for free but a pair will normally cost around Php 1,495.00, graded. For non-graded I’m not sure. You’ll have to check! 🙂

For the curious, here’s the make-up I wore for this review:
Base: Elizavecca Skin Liar Primer / Innisfree Long Wear Cushion Foundation in N23
Brows: Benefit Gimme Brow Volumizing Eyebrow Gel in Shade 3
Eyes: Dolly Wink Liquid Eyeliner in Black / Eye of Horus Smokey Eye Goddess Pencil
Lips: ColourPOP Ultra Matte Lip in Bianca
