OMGluie Beauty Review: Pink Sugar Our Lil’ Secret Foundation

Hey everyone! I’m back with a new OMGluie Beauty Review and this time, I’ve put Pink Sugar’s Our Lil’ Secret Foundation to the test! Whee! 🙂

This item was really bought more on a whim than anything else. I had just re-purchased another bottle of my Revlon Colorstay Foundation (my HG foundation, I promise!) when I saw this on the counter of The SM Store. I had heard about its launch a couple of days before I purchased it so I decided then and there to get it!

The 25 grams or 0.88 ounces of product is housed in a little peach-orange tube. It’s supposed to be an all day coverage foundation with aloe vera and green tea extract.

The counter lady told me that the best shade match for my skin tone was Light Medium – the second lightest shade and more matched for yellow undertones. So, I swatched it in-store along my jaw line and it seemed pretty okay.

The product is a little water-y in consistency and doesn’t have a distinct smell. It is a bit runny but instructions on the tube indicate you need to shake it well before using! 🙂

Later on, I realized, that compared to my skin tone, the foundation looks more orange and darker than what I would have liked. But then again, the color of the back of my hand can’t really compare to how my face will react to the product!

So, let’s get to the before and after!

Here is my bare face, yet again, freshly-washed and primed with the Maybelline Baby Skin Instant Pore Eraser Primer. As you can see, I have a LOT of pigmentation/dark spots from an acne breakout I’ve been recovering from. Don’t ask. I’ve been trying out some new skincare products and they did not sit well with my skin. HUHU.

AFTER: (Base Application)

The coverage of this foundation is pretty impressive! I used a damp Beauty Blender to blend the product out and I think I only used two-three squirts of the product! … I am not sure it completely matches my skin-tone but it’s the type to look heavy on my skin. Also I’m not sure, but is it just me who can see that really orange cast on my face???

Here’s a close-up shot:

It covered a LOT of my blemishes. Even the red veins on my cheeks and some redness on the sides of my nose! Despite the weird color and making me look like I just came home from getting a bad tan on the beach, it made my face look really flawless!

AFTER: (Everyday Makeup Application)

So here’s my complete made up face! Haha! As much as it makes my face look kind of flawless, I’m not that fond of the orange cast and how heavy it looks on my skin. You know how there are foundations that really just seamlessly blend into your skin without looking like make-up? Yeahh, this isn’t one of those, for me.

Here’s a closer look:

I really do like the coverage and the finish! If only it were a perfect match for my skin tone, huhu!

Here’s my final verdict:

Application: I don’t recall having a hard time applying and blending out this product. It is a bit runny so like I said above, you need to shake it well before applying!
Coverage: I’d say medium to full! The pictures say it all! It really does stand for its reputation of being a MAC dupe in terms of coverage and finish, I think!
Staying Power: Hmm. I had this foundation on for around 8-10 hours! And I had a pretty active day! So yeah, the staying power of this product is really good, provided you use it with a good primer, too. 🙂
Price: Php 399. Flippin’ cheap for a product that covers blemishes well, has good staying power, AND has a nice matte finish! Super solid foundation for those whose skin tones matches their shade range.

You know, guys, if this product didn’t oxidize on me and it matched my skin tone perfectly, it would have been perfect. Alas, I need to go back to the drawing board. But I do hope this review helps. It’s an affordable and well-performing product but just not for me. Haha!
