OMGluie Hair Dye Review: Lunar Tides in Smokey Purple

This is it, I’m finally done with grey hair, everyone! Haha! Here is the OMGluie Hair Dye Review on the Lunar Tides Hair Dye in Smokey Purple!

This review is gonna be short and to the point because there isn’t really much to talk about the dye that I haven’t discussed in my previous hair dye review from the same brand (you can read about it HERE).

As all of you already know, I currently purchase my dyes from Rainbowhead Philippines and this 4 fl. oz. tub is priced at Php 650.

The product is very dark violet/purple in color. And this time, I decided to apply the dye straight onto my hair, no dilution whatsoever! Yay!

It didn’t take much of the product to saturate my hair. I also had a good few inches of regrowth, as you will see in the photos below, so I used up only about 3/4ths of the tub.

This is great for those with short hair (above shoulder-length) and the peeps who want that cute dip-dye look!

Anyway, here is the BEFORE:

This is extremely faded Lunar Tides in Slate Grey.

I just have to put it out there that this hair dye does NOT last long at all. I first tried out this dye in January 2018 and two weeks later, it was already like this! I re-colored it with the same Slate Grey dye but it just faded back to this silver color, LOL.

Anyway, here is the AFTER:

I gotta say though, the color is really, really gorgeous! Undiluted, it really translates into that smokey, dark purple that the dye promises.

I dyed my hair around mid-February and it is currently March. AND my hair has now faded into a smokey lavender color with patches of silver here and there, LOL!

Overall, I love the color pay out of Lunar Tides when the dye isn’t diluted in white conditioner, which is what I normally do with other brands. But the lack of longevity of the pigment is making me put this brand at the bottom of the barrel, alongside the Iro Iro dyes, LOL. I probably wouldn’t repurchase from this brand, haha!

I am loving being back to a purple-head but I can’t wait to explore more colors! I’m really just growing my hair out and I’m hoping to get peach/rose gold hair soon! <3 Until next time! 🙂
