What Is Suntory SUI Gin?
If you’re a gin aficionado, you would be glad to know that SUI Gin comes from the same Suntory Osaka plant that introduced the world to Hermes Gin in 1936 and Roku Gin in 2017. Taking inspiration from the small and majestic bird, the kingfisher, the drink’s name and Kanji character SUI or “翆” is proudly emblazoned in the bottle. Other Kanji characters “翡翠” on the bottle signify jade, and each character is inked by master Japanese calligrapher Tansetsu Ogino.
The main botanical combination of SUI Gin is a mix of yuzu, green tea, and ginger. The Yuzu is used to accentuate flavor, providing that rich citrus freshness, while green tea holds rich umami notes that harmonizes with many meals. Lastly, ginger serves the spice for a clean and invigorating finish.
SUI Gin Now Pouring In the Philippines
When Suntory recently brought SUI Gin into the Philippines, they made sure that Filipinos had the best recommendations and combinations for the perfect gin-based drink.
The classic SUI Gin & Soda is a simple mix of gin and chilled soda water in a tall highball glass. The recommended ratio is 1:4. To amp up the drink, you can also add a splash of tonic water to turn it into SUI Sonic. And finally, you can embellish the experience by adding lemon, Yuzu juice, grated ginger, or green tea.
SUI Gin is now available at S&R stores nationwide, and will be available soon in major supermarkets, liquor stores, GrabMart, Lazada, Boozy, and Boozeshop.
