ESGS 2018 is just around the corner and we’ve got the latest news on what to expect and what to see at one of the biggest gaming conventions in the country! YASSSS!
This is the 3rd year that I’ll be going to ESGS and every single time I get the butterflies thinking about the things I’ll see and experience. ESGS sent us the floor plan and schedule of events so I’m here to share it with you!
ESGS 2018 Floor Plan:
The floor plan is mainly there to help you jot down your itinerary! Which booths am I looking forward to the most? Of course the Capcom booth! Also I’m planning to check out the ASUS ROG, MSI, Corsair & Logitech booths, too, just in case I might find something to splurge on.
ESGS 2018 Schedule of Events:
I’ll probably be visiting the con on Saturday & Sunday because those are the days I’m free. Pretty much looking forward to the Square Enix Showcase!
Also if you’re into esports, ESGS is your one-stop shop because a bunch of fun tournaments & finals will be hosted during the weekend. I don’t even know how you guys will be able to choose from the list of activities they have, haha!
Road To The Nationals Finals:
With up to Php 2.1 million for DOTA 2 and Php 300,000 for Tekken 7, the Road To The Nationals is culminating during the weekend, too! Players who are aspiring to be part of the first franchise-based esports league in the Philippines are gonna battle it out for the win!
If you can’t make it though, don’t fret coz you can catch it the Grand Finals of The Road to The Nationals via livestreaming on GG Network’s Facebook page, the Sports 5 YouTube page, and live on Aksyon (Ch. 41 on UHF) on October 27 at 7PM and October 28 starting at 6PM.
Playbook Fighting Game Arena:
For fighting game enthusiasts, Playbook is going big this year! You can watch and compete in your favorite fighting games for awesome fun & the chance to be their PH representatives to go and fight in EVO Japan in February 2019! LIKE HOLY CRAP, isn’t that awesome? o.O
Fighting Games Cosplay Competition:
The ESGS Cosplay Competition is also getting into Fighting Games, haha! A fan of Tekken or Street Fighter? Now’s your time to show off your cosplay skills and win up to Php 20,000! I personally know Tessa and Kang and I’m sure it’ll be boatloads of fun! Too bad I’m not into fighting games, hehe! Also, I swore off cosplay competitions ever since my first one LOL!
There’s a bunch of other stuff happening in ESGS besides those I mentioned! I feel like two days won’t be enough! They’ve got the World Electronic Sports Games who will be hosting their Philippine Finals and winners get to represent the country in the Southeast Asia finals at the end of 2018. The MESA Open, if you’re more into mobile esports, will have Hearthstone, Mobile Legends, and VainGlory tournaments during the weekend!
For indie game enthusiasts & developers, the GameOn area will play host to seminars, talks, and workshops from local & international gaming industry heads such as Ubisoft, etc.!
