UNBOXING: ColourPop Haul

Hello, hello! I’m so excited to share with you my recent ColourPop unboxing, haul and mini-reviews, haha! Let’s get right to it because this one’s gonna be pretty long! 🙂

During the Christmas season, I decided to gift myself new lippies! And because ColourPop has worked so well for me before (I have a couple of Lippie Stix and Ultra Satin Lip pieces), I thought, why not give some of their other products a go? And it was just in time too because they had recently released their Holiday Season! So, here’s what I got myself! 🙂

I purchased their “It’s Vintage” Mini Size Kit, one Ultra Matte Lip in Embellish, and one Ultra Satin Lip in Hutch. I know it’s not as crazy as other people’s hauls, I am still on a budget, haha! So I had to make some wise decisions and cut down my wish list of items!

For the curious, here’s the difference when you get a mini lip versus a full sized ultra matte/satin lip, hehe!

Let’s take a closer look at each of the pieces, why don’t we? 🙂 Now just a disclaimer, I am not a professional make-up artist and I’m still really trying to learn how to properly put on lipstick, LOL. So, please forgive the crappy swatches and uneven applications, I promise to get better with much more practice!

It’s Vintage Mini Size Kit ($18.00)

This set is oh-so-cute, and oh-so-tiny! It’s adorable! And I love the range of colors that are included. They have nude tones, red/terracotta tones, and some dark berry hues that’s kinda perfect when you want to amp up your lip game for a night out.

These mini sized lippies are all part of ColourPop’s Ultra Matte Lip collection, so it’s a great way to try different shades without having to purchase full sizes! Let’s get on to the swatching! 🙂

Bianca – A Matte Soft Mauve

Ugh. This shade is lovely! Although actually quite darker on the lips than on the bottle. It’s like my-lips-but-matte-r, HAHA. It applies easily and isn’t hard to spread.

Notion – A Matte Deepened Raspberry

I had a bit of a problem with this product because the formula is very runny. I’m not sure it translates very well on camera but the color is nice. Not one of my favorite colors though, not sure why. I guess I’m not used to wearing such berry-colored shades?

Tulle – A Matte Dusty Burgundy

I think Tulle feels like a more grown-up version of Bianca. So it’s a my-lips-but-a-darker-matte version? I really like this, it seems so wearable! 🙂

Love Bug: A Matte Rich Mahogany

Interestingly, this is extremely terracotta-looking on me! It’s nice! I love it a lot! You can wear it during the day and not have to worry about looking too simple at night. HAHA!

LAX: A Matte Vampy Red

Ooh, this color really, really speaks to me. Everyone knows my affinity for vampy colors and having it in a matte formula is exquisite! Heehee, I don’t even need to say any more. :))

Ultra Matte Lip in Embellish ($6.00)

What’s so special about this piece is that it’s from ColourPop’s Holiday collection! This was the only shade that I really liked so I decided to get it. HAHA. They describe this color as a “blackened brown” which you can really see in the swatches below.

All in all, I really like this color on me! I’m not used yet to having my lips look so matte but the pigment and shade really does make up for what it looks like on my lips, haha! 🙂

Ultra Satin Lip in Hutch ($6.00)

Hutch is an Ultra Satin Lip in a “deep blackened violet“. There is also a little bit of sheen to it. I… am actually a little bit disappointed in this product because it was on the top of my to-buy list. The formula doesn’t apply very well. It’s patchy and sticky so you have to add another layer to get that little bit of shine and to even out the color.

But, well, look at that gorgeous dark black plum color, right? /sigh.

Well, that’s it for my ColourPop haul unboxing and mini-reviews! Would love to hear what you guys think of the colors and the products! For sure, I’ll be purchasing more from them, haha! Until the next makeup haul and review, whee!
