PH Gets First Dibs on New ROG Strix Laptops with 14th Gen Intel CPUs

ASUS Republic of Gamers has recently announced that its 2024 ROG Strix family of laptops is going to be available first in the Philippines this February 2024!

Let’s check out the specs, features, and price range of the upcoming 2024 versions of the ROG Strix SCAR 16, ROG Strix SCAR 18, ROG Strix G16, and, finally, the ROG Strix G18!

Introducing ROG Strix SCAR 18

Introduced this 2024, the brand-new ROG Strix SCAR 18 is the first 18-inch ROG laptop equipped with the mini-LED ROG Nebula HDR Display.

The display boasts over 2,000 discrete dimming zones and 1,100 nits of peak brightness. This minimizes blooming and halo-ing even in the most challenging gaming scenes, providing an incredibly vivid HDR performance.

2024 ROG Strix – Specs and Features

The whole 2024 ROG Strix family of laptops share similar specs and features, each toting the Intel Core i9 processor 14900HX. They all support up to 32 GB of DDR5 RAM and up to 2TB of PCIe® Gen4 x4 storage.

However, there is some difference when it comes to GPU models. The Strix SCAR 16 packs an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4080 Laptop GPU while the SCAR 18 offers up to an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4090 Laptop GPU. And the Strix G16 comes equipped with up to the NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Laptop GPU while the Strix G18 features an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4070 Laptop GPU.

In terms of audio-visual features, each model features a 2.5K panel with 240 Hz refresh rate. The display panels have an extra-tall 16:10 aspect ratio with Dolby Vision® to ensure color content is as accurate as the user wants it to be. The Dolby Atmos sound system also offers expansive and realistic immersion for gamers who prefer to really dive deep into their playing experiences. XD

Finally, the 2024 Strix SCAR and Strix G machines have Tri-Fan technology to increase airflow on surface-mounted components on the motherboard. The machines also come with Conductonaut Extreme liquid metal, which allegedly reduces temperatures compared to the traditional thermal paste that we’re all used to.

Price & Variants

There are four distinct models in the 2024 ROG Strix family of laptops, and each of them has their own price point.

The STRIX SCAR 18 comes in the Off Black color and is priced at Php 299,995. The Strix SCAR 16 is also available in Off Black, but is priced at Php 214,995. The Strix G18 comes in a Volt Green colorway, and costs Php 159,995. Finally, the two variants for the Strix G16 (that both come in Eclipse Gray) have different price points – Php 114,995 for the one with the RTX 4060 8GB GDDR64 GPU, and Php 99,995 for the one with the RTX 4050 6GB GDDR6 GPU.
