We’re getting a Pokemon Center Pop-Up Store in Manila. I can’t believe it. As part of Pokemon’s 30th anniversary celebrations throughout Southeast Asia, Filipinos can expect themed activities, events, meet-and-greets, and more starting October this year.
Pokemon Center POP-UP Store in SM Mall of Asia
Probably the biggest news from the recent Pokemon 30th Anniversary presscon was the announcement that an official Pokemon Center POP-UP store will open in SM Mall of Asia.
Fans can expect to see official branding and merchandise from October 2026 to January 2027. No news if the pop-up will rotate around Metro Manila or the Philippines, but I hope it does because there are fans all around the country!
But even if they choose not to rotate the pop-up, a lot of themed events, activities, and meet-and-greets will happen around participating SM Supermalls in the Philippines.
Get ready to grab your favorite licensed Pokémon merchandise and collectibles, and join the free Pokémon Trading Card Game tutorials through the New Trainer Journey. You can also experience Pokémon Pokopia and Pokémon Champions on the latest Nintendo Switch 2, and receive exciting freebies like Pokémon paper sun visors and stickers. Pokemon RUN 30 Happens October 2026
Fans who are runners or are into fitness would also probably be happy to hear that the Pokemon RUN 30 is also happening at SM Mall of Asia on October 3-4, 2026. Registration for the event is already open via the official RunRio site (which might actually be sold out already, oops!), and will have the following fees:
- PHP 2,450 – 5KM Standard
- PHP 3,450 – 5KM Premium (includes a Pikachu Shoulder Plushie)
Participants will also get a special Runner’s Kit which includes the following:
- Pokémon RUN 30 T-Shirt
- Pokémon RUN 30 Drawstring Bag
- Type Themed Bib – Grass/Fire/Water *each participant can choose and receive one Type Themed Bib
- Poké Ball Themed Arm Band

PokeXciting! Party Comes to Manila
And at the beginning of next year, a large-scale party-type celebration called PokeXciting! in Manila will happen on January 23-24, 2027 at SM Mall of Asia.
There will be Meet and Greet sessions, exclusive merchandise, parades, Pokemon marches, and more. As the celebration continues into the evening, guests can enjoy the High-Voltage Night Stage featuring PokéXciting! Pikachu, with energetic performances, danceable music, and spectacular stage production. Admission to the PokéXciting! in Manila remains free of charge for the public for PokéXciting.
If you’re lucky, you might get to spot the special PokeXciting! Pikachu – a unique Pikachu that will wear a different-colored costume for every city in Southeast Asia, and in Manila, Pikachu will be in RED! 🙂 Plus, you can spot this special costumed Pokemon in-game in Pokemon GO as well.
