As someone who has somewhat switched back into the laptop lifestyle, it’s been a bit of a challenge to have a very limited number of USB ports to connect all my peripherals to. So when Rapoo asked me to try out their new XD100 Type C Multifunction Adapter, I felt like it was serendipity, LOL.
Here’s the OMGluie First Impressions and Mini-Review of the Rapoo XD100 Type C Multifunction Adapter.
Rapoo XD100 Type C Multifunction Adapter – Features, Pricing, & Availability
This is the first time I’m reviewing any sort of adapter or hub, mainly because I didn’t feel the need to purchase one since I’ve been mainly using a PC to blog. Now that I’ve moved more of my work capacity onto my laptop, the lack of USB slots has recently been such a hassle. So, here we are, HAHA!
Here are the features of the Rapoo XD100 Type C Multifunction Adapter:
- 3 – USB 3.0 A Female Ports
- 1 – HDMI Port (Supports 4Kx2k/30 Hz)
- 1 – USB-C Female Port (Support PD protocol power supply)
The Rapoo XD100 Type C Multifunction Adapter is priced at Php 1,890 and can be purchased at Silicon Valley and/or Technomart Stores.
Rapoo XD100 Type C Multifunction Adapter – First Impressions & Mini-Review
The Rapoo XD100 Type C Multifunction Adapter is pretty much plug and play. I particularly like that it can be connected to your laptop (or CPU) mainly via USB-C so it doesn’t take up any more USB slots, if you already have a limited number.
The adapter provides 3 extra USB 3.0 slots so you can have up to 3 separate devices connected to your computer, be it an external hard drive, a USB, or even bluetooth adapters for peripherals such as gaming mice, headsets, or keyboards! I personally connect my Logitech G304 via the adapter so I can save on USB slots on my laptop, LOL.
The Rapoo XD100 Type C Multifunction Adapter also has an HDMI slot so it’s really helpful when I need to keep tabs on gaming news or want to watch Netflix while I’m working, LOL. (Ssssh, don’t tell my bosses, HAHAHA.) I’ve also used the HDMI port to connect my laptop to my PC-bound El Gato capture card, allowing me to stream games from my laptop! I’d say it’s a really convenient piece of equipment that I haven’t really detached from my laptop in the recent weeks, HAHAHA!
There’s also another slot, which I haven’t really used, that allows you to connect another USB-C cable, and this one supports charging. So if your smartphone or Nintendo Switch needs a moment to recharge, you can also do so through this adapter.
Overall, I’m very happy with the Rapoo XD100 Type C Multifunction Adapter. The price isn’t over the top and you can use it right from the box! Pretty worth it, especially if you only have 2 USB slots on your laptop, like me, HAHAHA!
