ASTROLABE® Interactive Inc.’s sandbox survival title Aloft has just released its Bloom & Blight Update, its biggest Early Access update. Let’s see what what content is in store for players in the world of floating islands!
Aloft Early Access Bloom & Blight Update Available Now
Since its Early Access release in January 2025, Aloft has had two major updates: Critters & Wonders and Puzzles & Pyrologics. Today, the third one, Bloom & Blight, becomes available for players who own the game.
The update brings a heavy revamp in the game, touching on features such as world generation, ecosystem restoration, and much more.
Key Features and Changes
1. Improved World Generation
With improved world generation, Aloft will have a more flexible foundation to grow in future updates. This means activities such as exploring ruins, catching critters, upgrading skyships, and restoring ecosystems will be more rewarding.
2. Heal Ecosystems with New Minigames
Healing ecosystems in Aloft’s Bloom & Blight update have also been improved. New minigames have been added to help grow island flora, fauna, and fungi.
3. Gain Knowledge with New Tech Trees
In the update, wondrous Life Trees will have insight basins that will help players with tech tree progressions. Tech trees in Knowledge, Research, and Sailing can be advanced when players discover Knowledge Stones, Corruption Anomalies, and Lost Anchors in their adventures.
4. New Traversal Methods, Islands to Discover, Strains of Corruption, and Weapon Tiers
Players will be able to unlock a network of wind lanes to travel swiftly between island clusters. They can also use Lost Atlas’ to find and explore castaway islands.
New weapons tiers such Windstone and Serrated Bone will now be available to help combat the new strains of corruption called the Sportox and Flogade.
