This partnership aims to leverage Capcom’s expertise in game business and intellectual property (IP) education cultivated in Japan to create an international model for talent development, starting in the Philippines and extending across the ASEAN region.

Official Ceremony and Special Lecture

A signing ceremony was held on January 26, 2026, and a special lecture will be held today, January 27. The program aims to nurture creators, engineers, and business professionals for the global gaming industry, while also promoting the study of intellectual property.

Ricky Bian Li, Managing Director of Capcom Singapore Pte. Ltd., emphasized the significance of the collaboration: “Capcom has long delivered smiles and excitement to players around the world through our games. Behind this lies a continuous and sophisticated creative process — one that involves generating characters, worlds, game systems, brands, and the intellectual property that underpins them, then refining these elements into valuable assets and integrating them into our business.

In recent years, the gaming industry in Southeast Asia has grown rapidly, and in the Philippines in particular, interest in gaming and digital creativity has risen dramatically among younger generations. Against this backdrop, our educational collaboration with Mapúa University represents a highly significant initiative that contributes to nurturing creative talent in the region.

We are delighted to work with Mapúa University and Prime Manpower to share practical insights into the game business and intellectual property with students. Through this collaboration, we hope students will gain first-hand understanding of how creativity, technology, IP, and business come together to create value in game content — and apply these learnings to their future careers.

Capcom will continue to strengthen its relationship with Southeast Asia and contribute to the growth of the regional gaming community and talent development. We look forward to working with educational institutions across Southeast Asia to cultivate the next generation of creators and enrich the region’s entertainment culture.”
