#FightHairAsthma with Pantene and Jasmine Curtis Smith

Last week, I was invited to an event that holds a special place in my heart. Haha! Pantene Philippines recently launched their #FightHairAsthma campaign alongside their newest ambassador, Jasmine Curtis Smith!

I say this event is near and dear to my heart because, though not many people know this, I had a short stint with Pantene as a PR consultant. It was an interesting experience and I learned a lot from the people over there! This was kind of the fruition of the hard work and foundation we set up in terms of PR. And I’m so proud of the team!

The event was held in a rooftop venue somewhere in the Makati Business District. Guests were given a variety of activities to play around with such as the hair blow-out lounge and flat-lay area. …I didn’t really explore them since the place was relatively hot and I was sweating bullets, LOL.

But the main point of the event was to share with the media the idea that pollution can actually damage hair and cause hair fall!

Pollution suffocates hair, causes it to weaken which leads to hair fall! It’s like hair asthma!  This is an everyday struggle for Filipinas that is often overlooked. Just imagine all the particles and pollutants that settle on our hair and the stress our hair goes through the moment we step into the busy city streets.

Senior Scientist P&G Hair Care, Asia Pacific, Saint Tiu shared some groundbreaking findings on the effects of pollution on hair. “Scientific tests have revealed that hair exposed to highly polluted environments for three days can take on so many particles that its total weight can be more than 3% of its initial total weight. Not only does this weigh down your hair, but also renders the hair up to 20% rougher in texture. If left untreated, this additional roughness results in hair more prone to hair fall due to breakage,” he said.

With air pollution as a key problem in Southeast Asia, Pantene has an especially formulated shampoo and conditioner to help women protect their tresses from weakness that leads to hair fall – their Pantene Hair Fall Control Shampoo and Pantene Hair Fall Control 3 Minute Miracle Conditioner!

Pantene also announced the latest addition to their roster of online ambassadors – Jasmine Curtis Smith!

She joins the current list of Pantene girls alongside Gabbi Garcia (who is the star of their latest TVC that was shot in Australia) and online personalities Camille Co, Chin Chin Obcena, Kim Cruz, Patricia Henson, Rhea Bue, Say Tioco, and Alodia Gosiengfiao. It’s a pretty solid set-up with a very unique variation of girls!

It was pretty cool to see all familiar faces again, haha! Until the next event~:)
