Peeking Through Shokugeki no Soma

I was bored one day and was researching current anime that I could watch after finishing One Punch Man. And there was one name that just kept popping up no matter what site I looked at.

Shokugeki no Soma.

So I gave it a try. And my initial reaction was just, “W.T.F.

Again, let me reiterate that I have no expertise in reviewing anime in any way. I just like to talk about whatever I’ve watched and state my opinion about it.

Shokugeki no Soma is like Cooking Master Boy and Yakitate Japan combined. But on ecstasy and steroids, lots and lots of ecstasy and steroids, with the addition that it can be kind of classified as soft core hentai or ecchi, at the least.

Eek, as a woman, there are many times I have been offended and disturbed by this. SO HOW THE F DID I SURVIVE WATCHING THE FIRST SEASON???

I don’t know! But besides the fact that there are so many disturbing scenes and questionable sounds coming from this anime, it’s just simply too funny for me to let go.

Maybe that’s the catch! I am probably not the main target market of the anime (I mean, hello, naked women with barely covered private parts who are short of orgasming when they consume Soma’s cooking) but who cares?!

The plot is enjoyable. The idea of “cooking battles,” although not new, is always thrilling to watch.

And have I mentioned that I LOVE FOOD? I like the whimsical idea of gastronomic creations that seem out of this world, and taste out of this world too, apparently!

Shokugeki no Soma was something unexpected for me. The comedy is unorthodox and the characters all have their own quirks.

I specifically like Alice and Ryou!

And of course, Isshiki-senpai!

So, for those who are looking for a quick laugh and not mind feeling famished after, Shokugeki no Soma could totally take you for a ride. Nudity and moans aside, it’s something I would watch over and over again. LOL.
