WoW Forever is live now – Blizzard has rebuilt the original Azeroth and opened it to everyone, level one through sixty! Let’s check out what’s new.
What WoW Forever Actually Is

World of Warcraft: Forever went live on November 5, 2026, with every region opening at the same moment. It sits between the events of Warcraft III Reforged: Forsaken Kingdom and the Molten Core raid, which places it years before the Azeroth most current players know.
The game runs across the original continents, the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor, on a journey that ends at level 60. Blizzard frames it as a place to begin again: returning players get the old map with new stories layered over it, while first-timers get a version of the game that is not asking them to catch up on years of expansions.
Meet the Skyborne, the New Playable Race

The Skyborne, also called the shen’dorei or hidden people, are the new playable race in Forever. Their starting experience runs from level 1 to 12 on Zephras Isle, blending classic Warcraft art with elemental architecture and a story built around wind and ancestry.
At character creation, you choose whether your Skyborne joins the Horde or the Alliance. They can be Druids, Hunters, Rogues and Warriors, with Horde characters unlocking Shaman and Alliance characters unlocking Mage.
The catch is that the race sits outside the base game. Access requires the Skyborne Heroic Pack or a higher edition, so a subscription alone will not open Zephras Isle.
New Zones, Nine Dungeons, and Two Raids

The WoW Forever journey from level 1 to 60 runs through new and reworked zones on both continents. What is actually new:
- Zones – Mount Hyjal, Shen’dralas, the Riverglades and Zephras Isle, alongside reworked areas across the Eastern Kingdoms and Kalimdor.
- Quests – More than 1,000 new quests spread across the climb to level 60.
- Dungeons – Nine new five-player dungeons, running from level 13 to level 60.
- Raids – Two new raids rooted in the original game, with both unlocking on December 9.
- Systems – The Campfire system, class updates, and the Legacy System.
The Systems That Changed, and What WoW Forever Costs

Two choices now happen before you create a character. The first is an experience preset: Classic keeps the older models, a simpler interface. and fewer automatic guides, while Enhanced turns on high-definition models, transmog, one-bag, and quest markers. Blizzard recommends Enhanced for anyone unsure, and every setting stays editable afterwards.
The second is a ruleset, which replaces the old realm list. Normal, PvP, Roleplay and Roleplay-PvP are live at launch, with Hardcore planned for later. Your pick sets how open world PvP works and which community conventions apply, so it is worth reading before you commit a character to it.
Controller support is in beta, and characters now carry a first and last name. Names opened for reservation in late October, and this rundown on the reservation window explains how that worked.
Forever has no box price. An active World of Warcraft subscription or Game Time covers the base game, including the new zones, quests, dungeons and raids.
The upgrade packs are optional and mostly cosmetic. The Skyborne Heroic Pack costs USD 29.99, the Skyborne Epic Pack costs USD 59.99, and the Warcraft Forever Collection costs USD 79.99, adding Warcraft III: Reforged and the Forsaken Kingdom campaign through January 11, 2027. Only the new race and its starting zone sit behind that purchase.
