With Final Fantasy Resonance launching this October 2026, Bandai Namco Entertainment Asia and SQUARE ENIX have revealed that physical editions will be made available on release date across Southeast Asia.
Final Fantasy Resonance Opens Preorders for SEA Physical Editions
Releasing on October 22, 2026, Final Fantasy Resonance will have physical editions available for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo Switch 2, and PlayStation 5. Preorders are open now in Southeast Asia.
Aside from the Standard Edition, there will be a Digital Deluxe Edition which features the base game plus useful in-game items. A Collector’s Edition, which includes the base game and four unique physical items including an acrylic block set, an artbook, a soundtrack and a unique FINAL FANTASY TRADING CARD GAME promotional card, will also be available.
The first HD-2D Final Fantasy
Final Fantasy Resonance is the first game in the series built in HD-2D, the style SQUARE ENIX uses to make pixel art feel current without sanding off what made it charming in the first place. Battles are turn-based and strategic with a modern twist, and the familiar pieces come with it: chocobos, espers and airships.
It also pulls in faces you already know, with Cloud, Tidus and the Warrior of Light all appearing. The game is based on the first story arc of FINAL FANTASY Brave Exvius, but this is not a straight port. SQUARE ENIX has rebuilt and refined it into a full console-quality RPG, which is the part worth noting if you skipped the mobile original.
