I’m a Disney baby! I grew up singing songs of Disney classics from Sleeping Beauty, to Aladdin, to Little Mermaid, all the way until Frozen. And I have fond memories of Mary Poppins! I’m so excited!
Rob Marshall is set to the direct the film with news that the setting will take place 20 years after the first film, still in London.
The first film that was shown in 1964, starring Julie Andrews and Dick Van Dyke, was set in England during pre-World War I. The story will focus on the magical nanny’s continued adventures with the Banks’ family.
The good part about this soon-to-be sequel is that there are talks of Emily Blunt (who was the Baker’s Wife in Disney’s Into the Woods) starring in it. And I’ve been a big fan of her since her The Young Victoria days!
Although everything is still in the works and we’re not sure if she’ll be up for the role since she recently announced her second pregnancy.
Still, crossing my figures for this! :))
