Death Stranding Isolations Gets a New Teaser and Story

Death Stranding Isolations Story Trailer

Kojima Productions used its 10th anniversary to give Death Stranding Isolations its first proper reveal, with a new teaser and the story the series will follow. The hand-drawn animated series heads to Disney+ in 2027.

A New Story Inside the Death Stranding World

Death Strandings Isolations is set in the world of the games but tells a separate story. The plot follows a young man and a young woman on an adventure.

The synopsis opens on a hard line. “My mom became a crater.” After the Death Stranding, the catastrophic explosions that came when the dead collided with the living, a young girl is forced into absolute isolation, and she slowly grows to prefer it.

That timeline sits in North America right after Sam reconnects the continent through the Chiral Network. The series follows people walking a different path from Sam and Bridges: a wise old man, a female soldier caught in a cycle of war, and a boy raging at the absurdity of his life.

The Talent Behind Death Stranding Isolations, Plus a Tokyo Debut

Director Takayuki Sano leads the series, with E&H production on animation. The studio’s credits include Ninja Kamui and the Magic Knight Rayearth television series. Tow Ubukata writes the series composition and screenplay, Ilya Kuvshinov designs the original characters, and Hideo Kojima executive produces.

“One of the unique abilities of entertainment is its power to enhance the spirituality of those who consume it, and I think this is something that Mr. Kojima’s works have always achieved,” said Sano.

The Death Stranding Isolations reveal landed at BEYOND THE STRAND: The Odyssey of Creation and Endeavor, an exhibition at Azabudai Hills Gallery in Tokyo running from October 31 to December 20, 2026. It carries never-before-seen production materials, a 10th Anniversary limited LUDENS statue, and a 360-degree immersive video installation.

The series was first announced last November, but has no official release date yet. It’s best to keep an eye out for it if you have a Disney+ sub. For more details, be sure to drop by the official Kojima Productions website.
