If there was one thing I was mega excited about during Tokyo Game Show 2025, it was about Monster Hunter Outlanders.
The game debuted a new trailer, opened a global closed beta registration, and launched a gameplay demo, which we got to try during the event, so I was in awe with all the excitement!
What to Expect in Monster Hunter Outlanders

I’m probably going to write more a more in-depth post about the demo we tried out at TGS later on, but there are a couple of features that Monster Hunter Outlanders is bringing to the table. The game is developed by TiMi Studio Group, licensed by Capcom, and will play on Android and iOS devices.
Some gameplay features revealed in the trailer include:
- Simple touchscreen button controls – Familiar actions can be comfortably activated with a single button press, maintaining the usual thrills Monster Hunter provides, while delivering a unique feel.
- Trusted allies called “Adventurers” – The game’s characters are called “Adventurers,” and they come from all over the world, possessing a variety of experiences and skills. To explore unknown lands and ecosystems, each one possesses unique skills, which can be utilized to bring various benefits and effects to hunting.
- New buddies “Rutaco” and Trillan” – In addition to the familiar buddy Palico from the Monster Hunter series, new buddies exclusive to this game, Rutaco and Trillan, will also be introduced. Each buddy has its own unique personality, with different appearances and skills, and by training them, they can become even more reliable.
- In-Game Crafting – The game’s setting, Aesoland, is divided into several areas based on terrain and weather. By exploring each area using crafting, you can not only experience the field from different perspectives, but you may also discover special items and important clues to the quest.
- New “Radiant Species” Monsters – Aesoland is home to the “Radiant Species,” monsters whose appearance and abilities are altered by the island’s unique mineral, “Radiantite.” Radiant Species will become violent during hunts, possessing increased aggression and attacking abilities.

“Fans at Tokyo Game Show will be among the first to try the game, but this is just one aspect of the game’s many features”, said TiMi Studio Group Producer, Dong Huang. “With the first Closed Beta coming in November, we are currently working hard so that players can experience the game’s many appealing features. Please stay tuned for more details!”
“I believe that this title, Monster Hunter Outlanders on which we are collaborating with TiMi Studio Group has great potential,” said Capcom Producer, Genki Sunano. “We’re thrilled for fans to jump in and experience the franchise in a new and exciting way.”
