The last few days, we’ve been bombarded by a LOT of video games news, whether it’s through the recent PlayStation State of Play, Summer Games Fest, Xbox Showcase, and Nintendo Direct. I’m not complaining! But I wanted to make a personal round-up of my favorite announcements that really made me go, OMG. HAHA! Let’s go!
Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance Expansion Arrives 2027
Of course, my top pick would be the announcement of Monster Hunter Wilds: Ascendance. I wasn’t really planning on watching Summer Games Fest, so I woke up late but was greeted by this trailer on YouTube. Consider me SHOOKT. LOL.
The trailer didn’t reveal much information, but it did show off a new region in the skies, new looks for our companions, and new Elder Dragons to fight! Yes, Kushala Daora and Lao-Shan Lung is baaaack, baby! You can expect the expansion to be released some time in 2027.

New Kingdom Hearts 4 Trailer this 2026
After years of radio silence, Kingdom Hearts 4 gives its fans a new trailer, and at a Nintendo Direct, no less! I was caught off-guard.
Jumping off of the last trailer that Square Enix gifted the starving community, we see Sora in what seems like real-world Tokyo. A few notable cameos make it into the trailer, namely Young Xehanort, Organization XIII’s Luxord, and Strelitzia from Union Cross, who we’ve already seen in the last trailer.
Donald and Goofy make an appearance, and we get a glimpse of how battle goes when Sora beats up on some Heartless. Haha, no idea where Riku and Kairi are, but hoping we get more info soon.
Kingdom Hearts 4 will be available on the Nintendo Switch 2 when it launches… God knows when. In the meantime, here’s the trailer:
Persona 6 Gets a Teaser Trailer
Sega Atlus has had a hard few weeks, given visuals of the rumored Persona 6 game were leaked. Likely to give fans a little something during the recent Xbox Showcase, the devs came out with a teaser trailer that didn’t really reveal much about the title.
We do get a creepy-looking graveyard scene plus the reveal of the title logo. I’m assuming the color-scheme will be green, given the colorings of the trailer. Hopefully we get more info and an actual release date soon.

Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave Launches September 2027
We also got a new, more robust trailer about the upcoming Fire Emblem game on the Nintendo Switch 2. Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave introduced us to four characters, each with different story routes, and a bit of the battle and gameplay system.
It seems like a more dynamic, deeper turn-based tactical RPG, compared to Three Houses. ALSO, ALSO MOTHER SOTHIS???!!! … I’m very excited to try this game out. … But it also means I need to buy a Nintendo Switch 2. HAHAHUHU.
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave releases September 17, 2026, just in time for Tokyo Game Show 2026, so I assume a demo will be available there, whee~

Updates on Dune: Awakening and Phantom Blade Zero
So, we also got updates that Dune: Awakening will hit consoles this September 22, 2026, but will also now have a single-player campaign option. This is great because I played this game for a while and the multiplayer survival aspect is hard to work with, especially when you get into the Deep Desert. Things get really dangerous and complicated there.
Phantom Blade Zero also gets an update and will see its release date moved to October 29 this year from its original date of September 9, 2026. Pre-orders will open for the title by Summer 2026.
There’s a lot more to talk about – the Resident Evil: Veronica remake, Final Fantasy Resonance (which is basically offline FF: Brave Exvius, LOL), Persona 4 Revival, a new Atelier Game, Pokopia’s expansion pass, and more. But, the ones above are what I’m most interested in. HAHA!
