It was only a matter of time until HoYoverse developed its own life sim, and we finally have a peek at an upcoming title. Petit Planet is the devs’ first step into the genre, and it’s looking pretty cosmic~
What is Petit Planet?
Featuring 3D cartoony and stylized art, Petit Planet marks HoYoverse’s first step into the life simulation genre. Confirmed for PC and mobile, with additional platforms currently in development, The life sim also explores more possibilities of social and multiplayer gameplay.
In this life sim, players are entrusted to nurture a planet of their own and gradually form a galaxy by connecting with different planets scattered across the starry sky. The journey begins on each player’s planet, where fuzzy Neighbors can connect their home planets. As bonds deepen and planets flourish, Luca, the planet’s vitality, will shape each unique planet with different landscapes, brimming with life and energy.
Petit Planet Features & Release Date
According to the official release, Petit Planet unfolds everyday life with joyful, relaxing activities. Features of the game include the following:
- Cozy activities such as planting, fishing, beachcombing, mining, cooking, and crafting
- Social interactions with other characters called “Neighbors”
- Customized options for characters, interior, and outdoor spaces, and more
- Exploration outside of a player’s planet to discover other spaces, hidden recipes, and more
No official release date has been set for this game. However, players can sign up for the closed beta and pre-register for any upcoming playtests.
Register for the Closed Beta
According to the official website, the game has already opened pre-registration and sign-ups for a closed beta. When signing up, Petit Planet notes that playable platforms for now are only on PC and iOS, so take note of this if you’re an Android user.
I’ve been waiting for this kind of title from HoYoverse, and I’m very excited to try it out. I’ve pre-registered and signed up for the closed beta, haha! Hopefully they let me in! XD
