The Game Awards 2025 – OMGluie Top Picks & Faves

I might be a bit late to the party since The Game Awards 2025 concluded already, but I still wanted to share a roundup of my top picks of game announcements and updates from the show! So, here we go. 🙂

BG3 Devs Unveil New Divinity Title at The Game Awards 2025

Probably the biggest news at The Game Awards 2025 is the announcement from Baldur’s Gate 3 developers, Larian Studios.

They showcased a gory trailer for a brand new Divinity game. We don’t know anything about its gameplay or release time frame yet BUT, the devs say it’s gonna be their “biggest game yet.”

Seeing as how inhumanely large the content is for BG3, the upcoming Divinity game will probably be massive. Whee!

Say Hello to Star Wars: Fate of the Old Republic

As a Star Wars fan, this really caught my attention! I haven’t played the Old Republic game, so it’s probably about time to get into it. XD

Single-player, action-RPG, what’s not to like? Plus, the game director from Knights of the Old Republic, Casey Hudson, is also leading this one. Hopefully, we get the same quality and storytelling. I’m excited, even though we don’t have a release date yet.

Resident Evil Requiem Announces Leon Kennedy at The Game Awards 2025

We kinda saw this one coming with the online leaks, but it’s nice to see Capcom confirming the rumors with an actual trailer.

Leon Kennedy is back for Resident Evil Requiem, and we’re getting two types of gameplay for the game. Survival horror with Grace Ashcroft and more action-packed scenarios with Leon.

They’ve also confirmed that February 27, 2026, is the game’s release date on all platforms. Yes, even the Nintendo Switch 2.

Paladin Class Heads to Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred DLC

Ya’ll, when I heard that the Paladin class is heading to the Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred DLC, I literally yelled at the ceiling. HAHAHA.

The last time we saw the Paladin class was in D3, and I am over the moon about this. AND if you pre-order the DLC now, you can already play as the Paladin. Hell yes.

Lord of Hatred is coming April 28, 2026, and my body is ready to face off with Mephisto. (Also, there’s another new class coming with the launch, I wonder what it will be!)

Phantom Blade Zero is Releasing September 2026

As someone who has played various iterations of Phantom Blade Zero over the past two years, I’m so happy for the team that they’ve finally announced an official release date. The game is set to release on September 9, 2026!

For now, it’ll be available on PlayStation, Steam, and Epic Games. It’s an action-RPG, not a Soulsborne-type of game, which is excellent for me, btw.

The Game Awards 2025 Announces the Return of Lara Croft

I really liked the Lara Croft games on the PlayStation 4, so it’s nice to see that they’re making a comeback on next-gen consoles. The Game Awards 2025 showcased trailers for two games that will hopefully be released by 2027. .

We’re Getting a New D&D Game, Warlock

I’m not much of a Dungeons & Dragons girlie, but I saw the new Warlock game, and it piqued my interest! Anything sword and sorcery, I’m in. It’s a single-player, action-adventure game played from a third-person perspective, which is always good for me.

We don’t have a release date yet, but the game is scheduled to be released for PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox.

There are a lot of other announcements and updates at The Game Awards 2025, like a new Control, the Returnal spiritual successor Samos, and a new game from L4D makers & J.J. Abrams, 4Loop.

Of course, I’m a little miffed that Square Enix didn’t have any updates or trailers during the showcase, but, well, there’s always next year. You can watch the entire show if you want to see everything else that has been announced. Okay, bye~
