We’ve got some interesting news and announcements from the recent September 2026 Nintendo Direct!
Here’s a personal list of games that’s really making me want to buy a Nintendo Switch 2. HAHA!
Monster Hunter Wilds and its DLC
Honestly, I started playing the Monster Hunter series on my Nintendo 3DS. So, seeing the latest iteration make its way back into the platform is giving me all sorts of good feelings.
Monster Hunter Wilds is headed to the Nintendo Switch 2 on December 4, 2026, with the Ascendance expansion following in 2027. Ugh. Should I bite the bullet just for this game??
Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave
What do you mean we’ve only a week until the launch of Fire Emblem: Fortune’s Weave?! And I still don’t have a Switch 2?!
HAHAHUHU. True. But also, the Nintendo Direct reminded me that I won’t get to play the game until I buy the console. … And yes, I preordered the collector’s edition. Ah, the trials and tribulations from wanting an exclusive IP. HAHAHA.
We’ve got a brand-new trailer, this one showcasing the four main characters older or “time-skip” designs very briefly. The game launches September 17, 2026!
Turn-Based RPG Eternal Anima by Marvelous!
It’s been a while since an RPG caught my eye. And the one that did is actually from a developer that’s super close to my heart – Marvelous!
Eternal Anima is a turn-based role-playing game created by industry veterans director Katsuhisa Higuchi (Chrono Trigger, Chrono Cross), story concept writer Keisuke Makino, and scenario writer Kazushige Nojima (Final Fantasy). Here are some of its key features:
- Dramatic Adventure Connecting Generations: Journey across multiple continents with distinct cultures, and team up with ancestors and descendants across time. Discover how actions in the past affect the present, and empower allies with the abilities of their ancestors.
- Predict the Future to Control the Battle: Classic turned-based combat with a tactical twist: Future Sight. Predict enemy actions, then strategize to counter them. Player commands can delay or cancel enemy moves, allowing them to dictate the flow of battle.
- Inherit Abilities That Transcend Eras: Harness Wade’s power of Psychometry to decipher memories by drawing on the power within artifacts, and inherit the abilities and classes of heroes from the past. Combine them to find a unique playstyle to tackle the challenges ahead.
It was announced during the Nintendo Direct and will release March 4, 2027 for the Switch 2. But, it’ll also be available across most game platforms.
Puzzle Action-Adventure Ondeh Ondeh: Kaya’s Tasty Tale
Puzzle games are definitely not one of my favorite genres, especially ones that involve timing. But! I also love rhythm games! Ondeh Ondeh: Kaya’s Tasty Tale has a very unique visual style, fun premise, and interesting gameplay.

Also inspired by Southeast Asia? Where I’m from? Heck yes! Unfortunately, we don’t have a time frame on its exact release date yet, but we should expect to see it on the Nintendo Switch 2 by 2027.
Persona 6 Coming to Nintendo Switch 2
Ugh, Sega Atlus gave us a whole lot of nothing with the Nintendo Direct 2 trailer. It’s literally the same one they showcased recently, right after all the major leaks.
Hopefully we get more news before the year ends, maybe during Tokyo Game Show? Who knows.
Pokémon Pokopia Expansion Pass Part 2
I’ve been wanting to get a Switch 2 just because of Pokémon’s Pokopia. And seeing that they’re making content for it on a regular basis is making me really think hard about the decision. LOL.
The upcoming paid content focuses more on being able to accessorize your character and the Pokemon around you. New Pokemon highlighted in the new video included Doduo, Skitty, and Braixen.
Part 2 of the paid expansion pass will arrive later this year, with Part 3 incoming this 2027.
Anyway, that’s already a long list of games for the Nintendo Switch 2, not to mention the ones I already have at home that I’ve yet to play. If that’s not an indication that I need the console, I don’t know what is. XD
